Join Our Team as a Local CDL Garbage Truck Driver in Meridian, ID!Hardin Sanitation, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-conscious Local CDL Garbage Truck Driver to join our team in Meridian, ID!Full Time:Monday – Friday, 6:00am - Ending when the route is complete (generally 8-11 hour days)Occasional SaturdaysYear-Round Work! This Position requires you to work independently, in addition Drivers are expected to deliver excellence in customer service at all times. You will be cross trained in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks.Position Responsibilities:Safely operate an automated garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid wasteRead route sheets and service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcherPerform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles (checking fluids, safety equipment, tires)Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading/unloading and moving waste binsOperate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of collected materialClean up accidental waste spillsComplete daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipmentFuel and maintain the physical appearance of the vehicleMonitor and assess service requirements for carts/containersFollow all safety policies and proceduresCourteous interaction with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 poundsAbility to mount and dismount the truck multiple times dailyExposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, outside weather, wet/humid conditions, fumes, and vibrationModerate noise levelJob Requirements:Valid Class A or B CDL license with air brake endorsementPass Criminal Background Check, Drug panel Screening, and Motor Vehicle ReportPerform routine inspection and maintenance on vehiclesMinimum 1 year of experience related to the specified duties and responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of D.O.T. lawsAbility to work a physically demanding jobAbility to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in EnglishApply Today! To be considered for any of our current openings, complete an application at Application information and additional instructions can be found once you select your position of interest.Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
