Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business where our will to grow drives us to do it better.  Join the team and become part of our family!POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:Mechanical and electrical repair of equipment and cranes, including preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns.  Perform welding and fabrication work as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Constant standing.Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs., with some twisting and bending.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Basic mechanical and maintenance aptitude.Ability to use basic math skills.Ability to read and understand and follow operating and maintenance instructions.Good written and verbal communication.Ability to work well with other employees.Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space and mobile equipment operation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, machine installation, welding, and pipefitting.Five plus years of mechanical and electrical repair experience.Safety awareness training.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:Mechanical and electrical repair of bailing, shearing, and crane equipment when a breakdown occurs.Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.Complete preventative maintenance as needed.Other general repair work as needed.Ensure a safe work environment and contribute to a highly engaging culture that fosters safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trust.POSITION CHALLENGES:Ability to work in adverse environmental conditions that may include dirt, grease, heat and cold.We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing.
