MANTECH is seeking a Senior Drafter, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Operator to support our operations on-site in San Diego, CA. Join the Navy's Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) program and contribute to the evolution of warfighter readiness. We provide critical engineering and technical expertise for the U.S. Navy's premier Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training capability. Our work involves seamlessly integrating live training with synthetic systems to create highly realistic and complex global training environments. We also drive the development of advanced representations for joint, theater, and national systems, and model new weapons technologies and emerging threats, ensuring our forces are prepared for any challenge.The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing design and drafting support to complete large complex assembly models and drawings.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide drafting support to complete large complex parts, assemblies, and 2D drawings. Often independently pursued efforts will be focused toward GFE and custom metalwork/fabrication integration for military C4I systemsDrafting and documentation of equipment racks, equipment mounting kits, and equipment subassembliesLead quality control activities by working with project engineers and technicians to ensure all data is properly documented that is required to build the various assemblies and partsEfficiently, thoroughly, and independently solicit data required to create detailed drawings/designs using AutoCAD softwareCandidate must be proficient in creating drawings based on the Engineering Drawing Standards Guide (EDSG) as well as MIL-STD-31000Largely independently perform a variety of moderately complex tasks and uses tools to include calipers, gage tools, tape measures and other mechanical devices to aid in design, development, verification, and validation of the prototype fabricationsCandidate will be an integral part of the team creating/updating Technical Drawing Packages; being familiar with ASME standards, Technical Data Packages, and military drawing standards desiredThe Drafter / CAD Operator will work in concert with a drafting team lead, project engineers, and client principals to work, often independently, toward customer expectationsAbility to operate effectively in a team environment and able to take direction and constructive criticismMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and ten (10) years of related experience or Associates degree in related discipline and 8 years related experienceExperience designing with AutoCAD softwareExperience developing drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD softwareMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)Preferred Key Skills/Certifications:Extensive relevant knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, Department of Defense (DoD) and industry documentation standards for Engineering and DesignExperience with other drawing tools such as SolidWorks, or similar 3D modeling software a plusDemonstrated keen and relevant knowledge of technical drawing creation and reviewStrong technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal skillsClearance Requirement:US Citizenship is required and an active Secret Security clearancePhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
