Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 10 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience. • Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission). • This role will require floating to multiple units • Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted. Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Additional Details: Special Requirements: -Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program. -References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Previous Employment Requirements: -Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more -Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location Required Skills/Experience: Medsurg Experience • MS/Tele • Telemetry • Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Telemetry -on the unit monitoring • Use of Rapid Response Teams • Feeding tube care and management IV therapy/Phlebotomy • Blood Product Administration • Central line blood draw • Peripheral Line Care/Management • PICC line management • Starting IVs Preferred Skills/Experience: Hematology Oncology Experience Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: • Chemotherapy • Blood transfusions • IV Antibiotics • Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome • Insulin drips • Heparin drips • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Patient Diagnoses: • Lymphoma • Multiple Myeloma • Acute leukemias • Chronic Leukemias • Sickle Cell Disease • Other non hem cancers • Other benign hematology Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics Equipment Used on Unit: • B450 monitors GE telemetry system • Bladder Scanner • Alaris pumps • Stryker beds Unit/Facility Details: Number of Beds- 36 Special Requests: -No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff -RTO required with submission, must be built into contract Shift & Scheduling: If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. D/N or nights Weekends: Variable based on unit needs Floating Requirements: Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units Details: • AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: Please request an interview for one match from this facility at a time. You will not interview with the hiring manager if the facility chooses to extend an offer to you for this position. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
