Job DescriptionThe Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the operation, repair, maintenance, and installation of various machines and equipment at the University of Hartford. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.Job Responsibilities Performs preventative maintenance repairs and major overhausl on both Aramark and University equiptment and vehiclesDiagnose problems annd makes repairs as necessary and appropriateServices batteries, relaigns brakes, adjust vehicle components and systems, vehicle body repair, replace worn or broken partsProperly inspects, maintains, and changes cylinders on various gases located in cylinder roomAdheres to all Aramark appearance standards and maintains a professional dress at all times while workingMaintains critical inventory needed to keep operations running; maintains and accounts for tools usedCompletes preventative maintenance as scheduled and records the sameProvides emergency road service to disabled Aramark and University equiptment and vehiclesEnsures all behicles are in safe operating condistion and all legal and unsurance requirements are met in alignment with the state of Connecticut emissions programResponds to calls for duty at irregular hours for snow and ice removal, workload requirements, and other emergencies. Considered essential staff in times of emergencyMaintains knowledge of all equipment and related skillsMaintains safe work enviroment, friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients and co-workers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.Qualifications?    Previous experience in Mechanic/Vehicle Maintenance or in a related role required?    Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal?    Demonstrates organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detailThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
