Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: • 18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 6 months within the past 6 months. • Experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months. • 12 months of acute care experience. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • Local & travel allowed. • Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted. • 6 months between Staff at Program: HealthTrust Program - DCH Health System Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Additional Details: Required Skills/Experience: 2 years experience; however, will consider 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional license, and must have 1 year of experience in the field of specialty. Required Credentials: RNs Only - All RNs are required to complete a Cardiac Exam during onboarding. RNs are allowed two attempts and must achieve a minimum score of 80% to pass prior to clearance. ICU and ED RNs will also be required to take an on-site test in addition to the online pre-test. Education - Required: Associated degree in nursing. Unit/Facility Details: Our Medical Respiratory Unit is a 42-bed unit primarily specializing in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Nurses have a 1:6 ratio and provide care to predominately respiratory patients requiring treatment for pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, or other various lung diseases. In addition, this unit will further provide care to a variety of medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical patients. Patients in this area benefit from daily rounds with the entire interdisciplinary team. Additionally, this unit houses an 8-bed respiratory step-down unit with a 1:4 nursing ratio. Parking: available. Shift & Scheduling: Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week. Holidays as required.
