The Workers' Compensation Claim / Sr. Claim Representative is accountable for planning, recommending, and executing the investigation of workers' compensation claims. Our dynamic team of claim professionals provide superb customer service with the valuation, disposition and settlement of worker compensation claims while consistently adhering to our corporate claim settlement policies. Additionally, the representatives will work within established procedures in adherence to statutory, regulatory and ethical requirements.Work Arrangements: This position has an in-state handling requirement and is open only to candidates who reside in the state of Idaho.This position is 100% remote but the selected candidate must reside in the state of Idaho.  Start Date: January 26, 2026Hours: Monday - Friday, core business hoursTraining: 5 weeksResponsibilities:Effectively manage workers' compensation claims requiring timely investigations and financial accuracyProvide benefit oversight, appropriate file disposition and adherence to statutory guidelines for all claimsLeverage a network of professional resources that may include: doctors, nurses, attorney and regulators to facilitate our mission of restoring the lives of our claimantsProvide exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining productive business relationships with customersUtilize critical thinking skills to gather and analyze data information to inform critical claim decisionsProvide accurate mathematical calculations of disability benefit rates and claim financial exposuresLeverage contemporary technology to achieve accurate and efficient  claim outcomesConsistently demonstrate professional diplomacy during all interactions with customersContribute to a courageous culture that promotes collaboration and inclusion to maximize operational performance and employee engagementEmbrace a culture of continuous improvementQualifications: This opportunity will be hired as a WC Claim Representative (Tier 9) or Sr WC Claim Representative (Tier 8) depending on experience.Claim Representative: $52,880 - $79,320Prior workers' compensation insurance claim handling is preferredHS Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree is preferredDemonstrated passion for delivering a superb customer experienceExcellent organizational skills, especially regarding prioritizing work activitiesStrong computer proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)Superb time management and organizational skillsAbility to meet productivity targets in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentExcellent communication skills and negotiation skillsAbility to adapt and flourish using industry-changing workflowsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates active listening to attentively meet the needs of our customers and exhibit empathy during difficult situationsDemonstrated desire to promote an inclusive culture of continuous learning that is built on teamwork, collaboration, transparency, and accountability to one anotherAbility to self-manage competing priorities while delivering accurate work within key timelinesSr. Claim Representative: $61,600 - $92,400Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation claim handling requiredCertification exams and adjusting licenses as required by stateOutstanding interpersonal skillsStrong focus delivering outstanding customer serviceDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated consistent high level of performance and achievement over career spanExcellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesHS Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree is preferredAdditional Details:As a condition of your employment, you must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License to process Property & Casualty Insurance. Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon the successful passage of the Licensing exam within 1 year from your date of hire.CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
