JOB SUMMARYFunctioning within the context of the framework for professional nursing practice, the Perinatal Safety Nurse serves as a collaborative member of the leadership team who oversees the current and future development, implementation and evaluation of site-specific obstetric patient safety, education and quality initiatives; Examples include, but are not limited to, the national perinatal patient safety bundles and the Joint Commission Elements of Performance for Maternal Safety. The Perinatal Safety Nurse also serves as a champion for the system-wide Maternal Quality and Safety Program including regular educational offering and responses to quality issues and trends. Qualifications Education: BSN required. MSN, DNP preferred. Experience: At least five (5) years of obstetric/labor and delivery experience. Previously functioned in the Perinatal Safety Nurse role preferred. Licensure, Certification, Registration:Connecticut State Nursing LicenseFetal Monitoring CertificationNRPBLSOB Inpatient Certification preferred.ACLS preferred.
