Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.The Clinical Nurse Leader is recognized as the clinical expert in patient care services and is a leadership role model. The Clinical Nurse Leader directs the work to ensure the overall movement of patients through the unit is managed in a safe and efficient manner. You will appropriately assign the workload and collaborate with manager to monitor and maintain staff performance. This leader will review the assignment of patient care activities assuring that staff is qualified to care for assigned patients. The Clinical Nurse Leader will support team members and ensure quality and service excellence to patients. They will also facilitate solutions for challenging patient care situations. Ensures and demonstrates the cost-effective utilization of resources for self, others, and unit as a whole.Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced, complex academic medical environment where the Clinical Nurse Leader is a key member of the multidisciplinary team. Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work independently. Must have excellent assessment, communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage and follow through on multiple priorities. Must be able to communicate effectively, and work closely with all physicians and staff.
