Job SummaryThe Safety Manager manages and administers the Company Safety Program among several locations and strictly adheres to all safety policies and procedures. That’s why we give you a wide range of benefits to choose from.  All regular full time employees may enroll in a variety of health and welfare plans including medical, dental and vision plans.  Other benefits include life insurance, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and retirement program.  The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from.Compensation$90k-$110k DOEResponsibilitiesManage and administer the Injury & Illness Prevention Program to ensure compliance with state OSHA programs, MSHA and DOT regulations among ready-mix, aggregate and transportation divisionsConduct OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training for employees, supervisors and managersPerform and document site inspections, employee safety meetings, new hire safety orientations, job hazard analysis and monthly safety committee meetingsAssist with incident and injury prevention investigationsOversee and attend MSHA inspections, review citations, close out conferences and litigation of citationsPerform filing of MSHA quarterly reports, notice of injury, return-to-duty in timely mannerEnsure compliance with Title 30 CFR and assist with the development and administration of Part 46Investigate motor vehicle accidents and incidentsPrepare safety reports for management outlining trends for motor vehicle accidents, near misses, first aid injuries, and medically treated injuriesManage OSHA & DOT recordkeeping and reportingOversee annual chemical inventory at each plant location and assist in maintaining Safety Data SheetsConduct internal onsite inspections to ensure safety and health requirements are maintained in accordance to state and federal regulations and company safety policies and programsTrain employees and supervisors in best safety practices, policies and proceduresEducationBachelor’s Degree in Safety or equivalent preferredRequirements/QualificationsStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsStrong leadership abilities, self-starter, and highly motivatedStrong knowledge of MSHA, OSHA and other agency regulationsMust work effectively in a team environmentWork effectively and respond quickly under pressure situationsAbility to teach, mentor and motivate othersGood knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, PowerPoint and ExcelMust be organized, willing to travel locally and work flexible hoursPreferred:Prior work experience or internship in a mining/construction materials environmentEMT training a plusConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
