Join us as we work to create a thriving ecosystem that delivers accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.Senior Manager, Executive EventsWe are looking for a Senior Manager of Executive Events to join the Events team within our Marketing department. In this role, the Senior Manager of Executive Events will lead athenahealth's proprietary event program and will act as a strategic operator who combines big picture thinking with exceptional execution. This individual will manage high-stakes, high-visibility events where details matter, timelines are non-negotiable, and stakeholder expectations are exacting. The Senior Manager of Executive Events will display an ability to anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and deliver consistently exceptional experiences. This individual will be equally comfortable presenting to C-suite executives as you are reviewing vendor contracts or troubleshooting day-of logistics.Job ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end delivery of executive-level events, from initial concept through post-event analysis, ensuring flawless execution at every stageProvide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders, helping Marketing and Sales leadership understand how events can drive specific business outcomesDirect cross-functional project teams with clear goals, defined roles, and structured accountability frameworks that keep high-complexity projects on trackNegotiate and manage strategic vendor relationships, driving service excellence and cost efficiency while maintaining strong partnership dynamicsOversee program budgets exceeding $1M, including detailed forecasting, real-time expense tracking, and comprehensive financial reconciliationImplement measurement frameworks to assess event ROI, gather stakeholder feedback, and identify opportunities for program optimizationSupervise and develop direct report(s), building event management capabilities within the teamTypical QualificationsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, Communications, Business, or related discipline10+ years of event management experience, preferably within healthcare or technology organizationsDocumented success planning and executing events for senior executive audiencesAdvanced project management capabilities, including managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously under deadline pressureExceptional organizational skills and ability to maintain operational excellence under stressProven negotiation skills and vendor management experienceAbility to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environmentsWorking knowledge of Cvent, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint), Salesforce, and Willingness to travel as business needs requireHealthcare or technology sector event experienceFamiliarity with industry-specific compliance and regulatory requirementsCertified Meeting Planner (CMP) credential Expected Compensation$122,000 - $208,000The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum.
