This position will be full-time, hybrid, and is a contract position.What You’ll DoImplement data architecture solutions to support departmental research initiativesDevelop ETL routines within the silver layer of the research data lakeCollaborate with research scientists to align business use cases within the gold layerEnsure data hygiene across all layers and integrate new data sources as neededDocument data flows and transformations for transparency and continuitySupport program business compliance tools, strategic enforcement initiatives, WALL implementation data management, wage theft violation tracking pipelines, validation protocols for data accuracyWhat You’ll NeedRequired:3+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases (query writing, performance tuning, optimization)Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL processesExperience with AWS cloud database services (RDS, Aurora)Familiarity with data storage solutions for large volumesAbility to design data structures for both routine and ad-hoc queriesKnowledge of electronic data processing platformsExperience with data dictionary systems and database internalsUnderstanding of telecommunications systems as they relate to databasesAbility to estimate and analyze database capabilitiesFamiliarity with simulation and modeling techniques for database designExperience coordinating with systems and programming teamsStrong collaboration skills with project teams and stakeholdersEffective written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to maintain records and learn agency systemsExperience with AWS ecosystem (Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, Redshift)Strong Python skills for data manipulation and automationExperience automating data updates and validation processesPreferred:Experience in government or regulatory environmentsExperience with PostgreSQLExperience building/improving data pipelines from multiple sources3+ years working with BI/visualization tools (e.g., AWS QuickSight)Familiarity with Git or other version control systemsExperience evaluating or working with vendor-built database solutionsPhysical DemandsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standardsSedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitorThe pay range for this position is $50 - $60 per hour (USD).
