Acts as a consultant to parents on postpartum. Conducts follow up with parents as needed. Participates in the education of nursing staff as it relates to breastfeeding. Develops policies and standards of care based upon evidenced-based practice and current research. Reviews and maintains all educational materials distributed to parents regarding breastfeeding. Participates in consortium and community related breastfeeding activities. Maintains regulatory compliance as appropriate.
