Description The Maritime Systems Division at Leidos currently has an opening for a Material Controller in San Diego, CA.  This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to join a fast-paced engineering group rapid-prototyping a variety of systems!  Collaborate across our medium-sized team holding complete technical responsibility for custom development and prototyping across many technical disciplines. Team prototyping efforts span from real-world problem-solving, all the way through concept development, followed by iterative design and testing, and conclude with product demonstrationsPrimary Responsibilities:Receive materials and process goods receipts to maintain full material traceability and compliance with corporate and customer requirements.Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant receiving and stockroom environment to support operational efficiency.Oversee material packaging and shipments through UPS and freight carriers, preparing compliant documentation and shipping labels.Accept program requests for shipments of equipment internally and externally. Strategize and coordinate the movement of goods and resources to meet customer needs.Assemble kits and subassemblies in accordance with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical drawings.Reconcile inventory and digital records to maintain 100% accuracy and accountability across multiple storage locations.Professionally manage Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with vendors, resolving discrepancies and securing credits or replacements promptly.Plan and coordinate the movement of goods through various modes of transportation to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.Participate in team meetings to understand, influence, and support project planning and deadlines. Perform logistics support for the team as requested to ensure timely delivery of packages.Prepare Department of Defense (DoD) documentation (DD-1149) and Leidos packing slips to ensure compliance with government and corporate logistics standards.Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to support project logistics.Basic QualificationsU.S. Citizen with ability to obtain minimum SECRET security clearance; active clearance preferred.High School Diploma and 3+ years related work experience, to include experience with inventory database software and shipping/receiving.Experience performing online database entry, update, and lookup activities.Strong computer and research skills.Ability to operate related office equipment and personal computer software packages to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.Possess strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to balance multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.Work well with all levels of internal and customer management and staff is essential.High level of attention to detail.Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.DoD or Military Logistics experience.Forklift certified.Experience with basic Microsoft Programs.SUBSEAMSSIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
