We offer end-to-end solutions—from design and installation to ongoing maintenance and emergency support—helping clients maximize building performance, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan.Position SummaryThe Insulation Apprentice supports the installation and repair of mechanical and plumbing insulation on commercial projects. This role assists experienced installers, learns proper trade techniques, and helps ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing insulation on piping, ductwork, tanks, and other exposed mechanical surfaces.Support experienced installers in preparing materials, tools, and work areas.Follow instructions from the Insulation Supervisor and learn trade methods, techniques, and safety practices.Help interpret job information such as basic drawings, work orders, or measurements as directed.Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic installation equipment.Remove, repair, or replace damaged insulation as required.Maintain a clean and organized jobsite; properly handle tools and materials at the end of each shift.Use assigned personal protective equipment and follow all company and jobsite safety protocols.Immediately report hazards, near-misses, or incidents to the supervisor or safety representative.Work collaboratively with the crew to meet project goals, timelines, and quality expectations.QualificationsWillingness to learn new skills and follow directions from experienced team members.Basic mechanical aptitude or experience using hand/power tools is helpful, but not required.Ability to work on active construction sites and perform physical tasks safely.Reliable transportation to job sites.Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.Equal Employment Opportunity:Upchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
