Job Summary:As a loader, you will be responsible for loading product onto trailers accurately, safely, efficiently, and support for the warehouse functions. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability of each pallet to ensure safe transport to our clubs. You will also be responsible for ensuring the pallets are loaded correctly according to the load diagrams. Key Responsibilities:Accurately select appropriate pallets and/or cross-dock product and verify against pick ticketsVerify all load sheets and turn in complete, legible, accurate load diagrams and pick ticketsHandle and load product onto the trailer to minimize damageEnsure pallets are wrapped to ensure stability and stacked safely for transportEnsure each trailer is swept before use. Check condition of pallets and exchange where necessaryPromptly report damage and all inventory discrepanciesMaintain cleanliness and repair of dock, and facility areasMaintain all food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standardsOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus1+ year Warehouse experience preferredExperience operating Material Handling Equipment preferredHandle and prioritize requests from multiple sourcesAbility to do basic math to ensure proper height and counts per pallet and identify or verify pallet ID numbersAccuracy and attention to detailAbility to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidaysEnvironmental Job Conditions:Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionallySit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environmentGrasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basisEndurance for continuous, fast paced workFluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees FahrenheitAble to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc. In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $30.63
