Description The Leidos Defense Sector has an opening for a Global Trade Manager working hybrid from our Huntsville, Alabama location. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and hands-on partner to program teams, helping them navigate complex trade requirements and execute efficiently, compliantly, and on schedule. You’ll provide day-to-day trade compliance support across a diverse portfolio, with a focus on U.S. trade regulatory areas, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and Customs. The selected candidate will report to the Director, Global Trade Management.This position requires daily interaction with Leidos management, contracts, engineering, supply chain, and proposal teams, along with external customers and partners. Success in the role requires the ability to independently manage a high volume of complex work while maintaining a strong customer-service mindset, responsiveness, and collaboration.This role is required to be onsite at the Huntsville, Alabama location approximately 3 days per week and/or as business needs require. Relocation assistance can be considered.Leidos supports employees through a culture that emphasizes growth, flexibility, and well-being.Primary Responsibilities:Serve as focal point, providing direction, input, and guidance to programs and employees related to Global Trade (including ITAR, EAR, OFAC and U.S. Customs regulations).Draft Department of State export licenses and technical assistance agreements, as well as process ITAR exemption requests.Draft Department of Commerce export license applications and process EAR exception requestsManage export and import authorization records in Leidos’ records systemReview International Business Review Board (IBRB) routings for trade compliance purposesConduct global trade training for internal stakeholdersReview and adjudicate requests for foreign travel and visitorsConduct restricted party screeningsReview and adjudicate documentation for export-controlled informationReview and adjudicate international shipmentsAct as a Global Trade point-of-contact for questions arising from the Huntsville, AL sitePrepare weekly and monthly reportsPerform projects and other duties as assigned or required to support Global Trade objectivesBasic Qualifications.Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in export / import compliance. Additional work experience may be substituted for a degree.Proficiency with Department of State’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Department of Commerce Export Administration RegulationsExperience with trade compliance tools, e.g., screeningStrong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing documentation, data, and filingsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex regulatory requirementsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external customersDemonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment when assessing compliance risk and recommending solutionsHigh level of integrity and ethics, with a strong commitment to complianceActive or ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearanceProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
