Role Purpose Statement The Supervisor, Materials Logistics is responsible for overseeing materials flow, inventory control, and logistics execution within a fast‑paced production environment. This role leads a team focused on ensuring materials are received, stored, staged, and delivered accurately and on time to support production and customer commitments. The supervisor actively engages employees in safety, quality, and performance initiatives while driving continuous improvement. Main Accountabilities Supervisor Responsibilities Ensure the materials logistics area is properly organized, staffed, and directed to meet production and delivery timelines Conduct daily work group meetings to communicate safety, workload priorities, and performance expectations Schedule and manage staffing levels to achieve labor productivity and overtime targets Oversee materials receiving, inventory management, staging, and distribution to production operations Ensure on‑time and accurate material availability to support production schedules and/or flight catering operations Monitor and enforce compliance with all safety regulations and company policies Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including: OSHA FDA USDA EPA DOT HACCP Document department processes, analyze performance, and implement process improvements Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper material handling and storage practices Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs Leadership Guide, motivate, and develop employees in alignment with Human Resources policies Promote and model company values and management principles within the department Manage productivity hours and operational costs within the materials logistics area Identify performance gaps and initiate corrective actions as needed Participate in and support company initiatives such as: Quality and Food Safety programs HACCP compliance Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Employee Safety and Operational Excellence programs Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience One to three years of supervisory experience in materials logistics, warehouse operations, or manufacturing environments Strong problem‑solving and leadership skills Ability to lead teams to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety goals Technical & Professional Skills Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, EPA, DOT, and HACCP regulations Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows‑based computer applications Experience with inventory systems and materials tracking processes preferred LSG Sky Chefs is an EEO and Affirmative Action Employer of Women/Minorities/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
