Position Overview Responsible for assisting the Shipping Manager with inventory, receiving, invoicing, and maintaining accurate delivery schedules. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of people and resources on 2nd Shift in an Union environment. Duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring acceptable housekeeping standards for the shipping area to include the delivery docks; maintaining accurate inventory; ensuring invoicing is processed accurately and on time, and serving as a back-up for the Shipping Manager. Responsibilities Supervise the activities of 2nd shift warehouse employees to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient operations related to warehouse and shipping processes. This will include training and assigning work as needed. Ensure departmental compliance to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies. Coordinate, schedule and monitor the activities required for on-time and accurate delivery of customer orders. Respond to customer questions and complaints regarding shipping processes. Coordinate with other departments, such as production and customer service, to ensure we are meeting customer expectations. Inspect physical conditions of warehouse and equipment, ensure maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary. Ensure warehouse processes are being followed to facilitate effective inventory control. Prepare and organize all documentation relating to shipments. Make recommendations for optimizing warehouse and shipping processes to meet cost, quality, and delivery expectations. Flexibility is required - may need to work different shift schedule and weekend overtime. Additional duties my be assigned based on department needs. Qualifications Should have knowledge of shipping principles, inventory control, quality control, incident reporting including investigation and managing people in a union environment.
