Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or Equivalent with vocational or trade school training in electricity, mathematics and blueprint readingOne to three years demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance of public buildings and safety codesCertifications and Licenses Required:Valid New Jersey Driver's LicenseScheduling Requirements:Full TimeEssential Functions:Assembles, installs and connects componentsDiscusses repairs and service needed with department personnelDismantles electrical machinery, replaces defective mechanical parts and reassemblesEstimates quantities of materials needed and prepares requisitionInspects and tests electrical lighting, signal communication and power circuits and equipmentInstalls new wiring and electrical machineryIsolates defects using testing instrumentsMay perform carpentry, plastering and painting in connection with repair workMust exercise established safety and sanitation standards to avoid exposure to minor health and accident hazards such as falls, cuts, bruises and inhalation of vaporsPerforms all other duties as job assignment flexibility prescribesPerforms preventative maintenance on all electrical equipmentPerforms snow removal duties as conditions dictateReads blueprints and diagrams to ascertain layout, location and specifications of items to be installedRenews circuits by replacing defective wiring or by splicing broken wiresRepairs electrical circuits and equipment and makes necessary replacementsRepairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances to supply electrical power for lighting and equipment operationWires motors, maintains and checks emergency electrical equipmentBenefits and Perks:At RWJBarnabas Health, our employees are at the heart of everything we do.
