We offer end-to-end solutions—from design and installation to ongoing maintenance and emergency support—helping clients maximize building performance, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan.Position SummaryThe Project Installer Apprentice supports installation work on commercial/industrial job sites by assisting experienced technicians and foremen with material handling, basic installation tasks, jobsite setup, and maintaining a safe, organized work area. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the trades and learn installation best practices through hands-on training.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with installation activities on active job sites (e.g., staging materials, measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing components under supervision).Support crews with jobsite prep, cleanup, and organization of tools and materials.Load/unload materials and equipment; move materials safely to work areas.Follow foreman direction and learn proper installation methods and jobsite standards.Read and follow basic plans, layout marks, and work instructions as training progresses.Use hand tools and power tools safely (drills, impacts, saws, levels, etc.) as authorized and trained.Help maintain accurate inventory of materials and communicate shortages or issues to the foreman.Comply with Upchurch safety policies, PPE requirements, and jobsite rules.Participate in training, safety meetings, and skill development (including apprenticeship coursework if applicable).Maintain professional communication and teamwork with field leaders, other trades, and customers.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).Strong interest in learning a skilled trade and working in a construction environment.Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a crew, and show up reliably.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred/required based on location).Preferred Qualifications6+ months experience in construction, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or related field.OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain).Experience using common hand/power tools.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical work (standing, bending, climbing, kneeling).Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites (including ladders/scaffolding).Must be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection).Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.Equal Employment Opportunity:Upchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
