Job Description

As Quality Engineer, you ensure the highest quality products/rigid plastic containers are produced at the Jackson Center site.  You work closely with customers, suppliers and internal partners to develop & maintain quality processes, educate associates, resolve issues, and lead continuous improvement activities.  You WillDefine and implement performance metrics for processes, measure output, monitor performance, quality and compliance to processes and to business goals.Collaborate cross-functionally to quality goals are met, such as rework and scrap reduction, as well as on time product delivery to customers.Analyze statistical process control data to understand process variation, initiating corrective actions when necessary.  In addition, lead change control protocols and follow-up to validate effective change implementation.   Investigate customer issues with product quality and lead the development of root cause analyses, design of experiments (DOE), or 8D programs to produce effective corrective actions.Visit customer facilities to conduct health check meetings and maintain positive customer relationships.Serve as site voice-to-suppliers for all quality issues.Work with site leadership to maintain ISO standards and food safety certification, including serving as auditor.Direct work of Quality Technicians.Develop and deliver training on quality control to Associates.Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.You HaveBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.Minimum of one 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated working knowledge of process improvement concepts such as DOE, FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, SPC and other analytical problem solving/continuous improvement tools. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TQM, and Six Sigma principles.Ability to lead teams in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities.As a Plastipak Associate, you receive a benefits package offering the following:Wellness ProgramsHealth Insurance Coverage, including Medical, Dental & VisionEAP, Employee Assistance ProgramLife InsuranceAccidental Death & Dismemberment InsuranceDisability Insurance:  Short-Term & Long-TermAccidental InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceHospital Indemnity Insurance401(k) Plan, with Company Matching Contribution & Profit Sharing featurePaid Time Off    - 80 hours within 1st year & subsequent increasesPaid Company HolidaysDependent Care Flexible Spending AccountCaregiving via Pet InsuranceTuition Assistance ProgramSons and Daughters Scholarship ProgramTravel AssistanceEmployee Discount Programs*Some benefits are subject to eligibility requirementsPlastipak is an Equal Opportunity EmployerIn order to process your job application, Plastipak collects and stores the personal information that you submit via this website.
