Summer Camp Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging pool environment for all campers and staff. Lifeguards oversee pool activities, enforce safety rules, and work collaboratively with co-lifeguards and camp staff. Safety is the top priority at all times, both on campus and during off-site activities and field trips.  Work Schedule Summer Camp Dates: June 15th- August 28th Hours vary between 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM Field trip days (Fridays): hours may range from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, depending on the field trip schedule. Key Responsibilities Prepare the pool area for daily use, including setup and safety checks. Ensure all pool and safety equipment is properly maintained, accounted for, and up to date. Actively supervise students during all pool activities. Enforce pool rules and safety procedures consistently. Demonstrate strong group and behavior management in the pool setting. Engage students by implementing safe, age-appropriate pool games and activities. Communicate clearly with students and staff regarding pool safety expectations. Work collaboratively with a co-lifeguard to ensure full coverage and supervision. Assist with SPLASH PAD/ WATERSLIDE supervision. Assist with counselor breaks or provide additional supervision during open schedule times. Support general camp operations as needed when not actively guarding the pool. Complete end-of-day pool area cleanup and equipment storage. Attend and supervise students on field trips as assigned, supporting overall student safety and behavior expectations. What We Are Looking For Experience working with children preferred. Strong supervision, communication, and observation skills. Ability to manage groups of students in a pool environment. Comfortable addressing safety concerns with students and staff. Dependable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.  Qualifications Minimum one (1) year of Lifeguard experience. Certification as a Lifeguard essential. CPR certification and prior lifeguard experience. Must be 18 years of age. CPO certification a plus. Expectations Willingness to assist in all areas of camp operations as needed. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities. Commitment to student and staff safety as the highest priority at all times. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
