This Position requires you to work independently, in addition Drivers are expected to deliver excellence in customer service at all times. You will be cross trained in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks..Position Responsibilities:Safely operate an automated garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid wasteRead route sheets and service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcherPerform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles (checking fluids, safety equipment, tires)Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading/unloading and moving waste binsOperate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of collected materialClean up accidental waste spillsComplete daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipmentFuel and maintain the physical appearance of the vehicleMonitor and assess service requirements for carts/containersFollow all safety policies and proceduresCourteous interaction with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Working Conditions and Physical Effort:Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 poundsAbility to mount and dismount the truck multiple times dailyExposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, outside weather, wet/humid conditions, fumes, and vibrationModerate noise level.Job Requirements:Valid Class A or B CDL license with air brake endorsement (RequiredClean Driving Record (MVR)Pass Criminal Background Check, Drug panel ScreeningPerform routine inspection and maintenance on vehiclesMinimum 1 year of experience related to the specified duties and responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of D.O.T. lawsAbility to work a physically demanding jobAbility to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including:•             Background Check•             MVR Check (Clean Driving Record)•             Drug screen.**If applying through Indeed or other third party site:**To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application directly through our website at: .Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
