We offer end-to-end solutions—from design and installation to ongoing maintenance and emergency support—helping clients maximize building performance, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan.Position SummaryThe HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and local codes. The technician works independently or as part of a service team to provide timely solutions for commercial clients, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and controlsPerform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment to optimize efficiency and longevityRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manualsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issuesInstall HVAC components and ensure proper system operation and calibrationEnsure compliance with local, state, and national codes and safety regulationsMaintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and work ordersCommunicate clearly with clients regarding service needs, recommendations, and estimated costsOperate and maintain service tools and diagnostic equipmentFollow company and OSHA safety protocols, including confined space and lift operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred3+ years of commercial HVAC service experienceEPA Section 608 Certification Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration, and controlsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematicsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to lift 50+ pounds, work in confined spaces, and at heightsValid driver’s license with clean driving recordExcellent communication and customer service skillsOSHA safety certification preferredBenefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.Equal Employment Opportunity:Upchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
