If you have expertise in disaster recovery planning, business continuity programs, and continuity of operations, and are looking for your next career move, apply now.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Specialist to review, reform, and mature our formal DR/BCP/COOP program. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite in Boise, ID for an 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.This contract will start June 1, 2026.Only work authorizations not requiring sponsorship will be considered.What You’ll DoScenario planning and exercising the Disaster Recovery Plan (35% of responsibilities)Review, update, and maintain the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) using the current state-provided template as the baselineIncorporate and own the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process, ensuring alignment with the DRP and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)Identify backup time windows based on priority levels from the BIAUpdate and maintain the IT asset inventory, including contact information for key personnel and vendorsReview and update Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) with all relevant vendors; document and secure vendor commitmentsDevelop and maintain alternative workaround plans for critical business processes in the event of system unavailabilityCoordinate, plan, and facilitate business continuity scenario planning, tabletop exercises (TTX), and IT failover testingReview and assess the formal backup methodology and strategy; make recommendations and implement improvements as warrantedReview and update all Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and third-party agreements related to recovery and continuityDevelop and document formal restoration processes and proceduresUpdate and maintain the COOP to reflect current operations, personnel, and systemsSimulate turning on the DR site as part of testingDevelop or update relevant policies and procedures supporting the DR/BCP/COOP programHelp mature the overall program with the goal of a sustainable, repeatable process that can be managed by internal staff upon handoffWhat You’ll NeedRequired:3-5 years demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and continuity of operations (COOP)Experience providing leadership and direction to staff membersPractical knowledge of BIA development and integration with DR/BCP programsExperience conducting tabletop exercises (TTX) and facilitating IT failover testingStrong understanding of RTO/RPO frameworks and vendor management in a recovery contextExperience reviewing and assessing enterprise backup technologies and methodologiesExcellent business process management and documentation skillsAbility to work collaboratively with both IT and business stakeholdersExperience in a government, public sector, or similarly regulated environmentPreferred:Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP)FEMA Professional Development Series or equivalent continuity of operations trainingCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or relevant IT certificationsPhysical DemandsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standardsAbility to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitorMust be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in personSedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.#LI-JH1Reasonable accommodation statementIf you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to or (888) 824 – 8111.$50.00 - $58.00 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
