Check out our job openings and advance your career with a company that values its team members!Location: 180 East Pulaski RoadDays: Monday to Friday, 2 Saturdays/monthHours: 7:00am - 4:00pm, Saturday 7:20am-12:0pmFull-time: Benefit EligibleHourly Rate: $17.50 - $18.50/hrThe Receptionist – Phlebotomy Laboratory serves as the first point of contact for patients, clients, and visitors entering the laboratory service area. This position is responsible for greeting patients, verifying demographic and insurance information, registering laboratory orders, scheduling appointments, answering phones, coordinating specimen flow, and providing clerical support to the phlebotomy and laboratory team. The Receptionist helps ensure a smooth, efficient, and patient-centered experience while maintaining compliance with privacy, safety, and laboratory protocols. Similar front-end duties commonly include patient identification, order entry, and database accuracy in lab workflows.In this role, you will:Greet and check in patients for laboratory and phlebotomy servicesVerify patient identity using established protocolsConfirm physician orders, requisitions, and test requestsEnter patient demographics, insurance, and test information into the laboratory information system (LIS) or EMRSchedule phlebotomy and specimen collection appointmentsAnswer incoming calls and assist patients, providers, and client offices with questionsPrint specimen labels and prepare paperwork for phlebotomistsReceive, log, and route incoming specimens from courier or walk-in patientsEnsure all documentation is complete and accurate prior to specimen collectionMaintain front desk supplies, forms, and office materialsCoordinate communication between patients, phlebotomists, couriers, and laboratory staffAssist with scanning, filing, faxing, and record retentionMaintain HIPAA confidentiality and patient privacyResolve patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when neededSupport wait-time management and patient flow during peak periodsAll you need is:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum 1–2 years of receptionist, medical office, or laboratory clerical experience preferredExperience in a healthcare, outpatient lab, or phlebotomy setting strongly preferredKnowledge of medical terminology preferredExperience with EMR/LIS systemsStrong typing, phone, and data-entry skillsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracyBonus points if you’ve got:Familiarity with specimen collection workflowsUnderstanding of insurance verification and prior authorizationsExperience handling high-volume patient trafficStrong conflict resolution and de-escalation skillsAbility to work collaboratively with laboratory and patient service teamsWe’ll give you:Appreciation for your workA feeling of satisfaction that you’ve helped peopleOpportunity to grow in your professionFree lab services for you and your eligible dependentsWork-life balance, including Paid Time Off and Paid HolidaysCompetitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insuranceHelp saving for retirement, with a 401(k) that includes a generous company matchA sense of belonging – we are a community!We also want you to know:This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
