Physiatry PM&R MD or Physiatry PM&R NP/PAMedical Director Services PC is seeking to hire either a Physiatry PM&R Physician (MD/DO) or a Physiatry PM&R Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) to provide care at skilled nursing facilities in the Bronx and Brooklyn, NY area.Prior skilled nursing or hospital experience is a plus.Competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with experience.Position OverviewThe selected provider will serve as a key clinical leader delivering physiatry-focused care to short- and long-term residents. This role emphasizes physical medicine and rehabilitation, functional improvement, pain management, and reducing unnecessary hospitalizations.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive physiatry and medical care to residents in a skilled nursing facilityConduct physical examinations upon admission and on an ongoing/as-needed basisAssess functional status, mobility, pain levels, and rehabilitation needsDevelop and implement individualized, evidence-based rehabilitation and treatment plansCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing staff, therapists, and specialistsParticipate in care planning, discharge planning, and medical service developmentEducate residents and families on care plans, rehabilitation goals, and treatment optionsPrescribe, evaluate, and adjust medications responsiblyEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulationsMaintain accurate, timely documentationSupport staff education and assist with regulatory survey readinessRequirementsFor Physician (MD/DO):Active New York medical licenseBoard certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) preferredCurrent DEA registration in good standingSkilled nursing or post-acute care experience preferredORFor NP/PA Candidates:Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA programActive New York NP/PA licenseBoard certification (or eligibility)Interest or experience in physiatry, rehabilitation, or post-acute care preferredQualifications for All CandidatesStrong clinical skills in musculoskeletal and neurological conditionsAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teamExcellent communication and bedside mannerCultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse patient populationsExtensive training will be provided for NP/PA candidates.Salary:NP/PA is 120,000-150,000MD is 220,000-500,000About UsMedical Director Services PC was founded in 2016 to support skilled nursing facilities in delivering high-quality, value-based care to higher-acuity patients.
