We’re rapidly expanding and we need great people to join our team.The Associate Director of Specialty Care Performance is a critical role responsible for driving data-informed decision-making, care model innovation, and operational excellence across ChenMed’s specialty care services. This individual will report directly to the VP, Specialty Care, and work in close partnership with national physician leaders, as well as cross-functional teams across clinical, operations, finance, and analytics. In this role, you will own the development and execution of an integrated specialty care innovation & performance framework, including operational, financial, and select clinical outcomes. You will translate complex data into actionable insights and bring performance measurement to life in a way that drives accountability, alignment, and continuous improvement across markets. You will experiment with and improve advanced technologies that will transform our ability to understand performance including but not limited to frontier AI models. Additionally, this role will play a key part in advancing ChenMed’s value-based care mission by generating strategic insights that help specialty programs reduce avoidable hospitalizations, improve patient outcomes, and optimize total cost of care within a Medicare Advantage capitated model.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Performance Management & Reporting:Lead the development and management of reporting frameworks and performance management systems across mature specialty care offeringsBuild tools and dashboards in partnership with clinical, operations, analytics, and finance teams to enable data-driven decision-making, including advanced AI toolsPrepare and synthesize insights for accountability and performance review meetings with senior leadershipPilots, Innovation & Strategic Initiatives:Evaluate new specialty care initiatives and pilots by building data-driven frameworks to assess performance and scalabilityDefine and frame key P&L levers, KPIs, and financial impact hypothesesAnalyze early-stage results, combining quantitative data and qualitative insights to identify trends and root causesUpdate and refine integrated specialty financial models based on pilot learnings and ongoing analysesDevelop recommendations on whether to scale, iterate, or discontinue initiativesInsights & Performance Improvement: Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of large, complex datasets (financial, clinical, and operational)Use internal AI tools and contribute to improving foundational analysis capabilities using frontier models and other emerging technologiesIdentify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement through advanced analytics and benchmarkingTranslate findings into clear, actionable recommendations to improve performance across markets and specialtiesFinancial Modeling & Results TrackingOwn monthly performance tracking (historical and projected) for specialty carePartner with Finance and Medical Economics teams to monitor financial contributions, variance drivers, and forecast performanceBuild and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making and operational improvementsAccountability Forums & Cross-Functional LeadershipEstablish and lead performance accountability forums across specialties and marketsDrive structured discussions to evaluate performance, investigate variances, and ensure follow-through on action plansStrategic Partnerships & Business Case DevelopmentSupport the development of business cases for new specialty care offerings, including financial viability and strategic alignmentPartner with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and manage performance of existing programs and partnershipsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure and solve complex, interdisciplinary problemsAdvanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau), and deep interest in and experience experimenting with variety of advanced AI tools available for analysis and problem solvingStrong financial acumen, including experience with financial modeling, P&L analysis, and cost accountingAbility to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights and executive-level recommendationsDeep understanding of healthcare operating environments, including value-based care models and capitated risk arrangementsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environmentAbility and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally up to 20% to support multi-market operationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Economics, Finance, Public Health, or a related field requiredAdvanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH)Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, management consulting, investment banking, medical economics, or healthcare performance managementPreferred experience from top-tier consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company) or similar strategy-focused environments3+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives related to performance improvement, financial management, or enterprise programsDemonstrated experience building and owning performance management frameworks, financial models, and executive-level reportingWhat We Offer:A mission-driven organization transforming care for seniorsCompetitive base salary commensurate with experiencePerformance-based incentive eligibilityComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)Opportunity to make a measurable, national-level impact in value-based careCompensation packages are tailored to reflect the skills, experience, and potential of each candidatePAY RANGE:$118,062 - $168,658 SalaryThe posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
