Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for an Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to support Special Operations communication. This position will be in Hawaii and will be an onsite position Responsibilities: Gathers information concerning the capabilities of Company products; investigates the technical capabilities of Company products and competing equipment and/or solutions; stays abreast of developments in hardware and software. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and ensures requirements comply through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall network and system development. Designs interfaces and brings network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Develop and implement QoS for a voice/video/data network environmentUse network/application performance management tools to troubleshoot, analyze, test, and provide recommended solutions for performance problemsDevelops and generates conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures, resulting in documents and drawings, testing analyses, test plans, and risk assessments to ensure sound architectureProvide operational support services for WAN and LAN technologiesPlans network layouts and configures systems to user environmentsAnalyzes network topologies and traffic, and capacity requirementsWork with DOD customers to fill information gaps and communicate architecture and technical solutionsSupports the acquisition of hardware and software, as well as neededDevelop detailed logical designs in areas of: Gigabit Ethernet Switching/Routing (EIGRP & BGPv4), QOS, DMVPN, IPv4 & Multicast architecturePerform Network Engineering and Architecture Duties for a Wide Area Networking environment Qualifications: High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills and ExperienceClearance Required:  TS/SCICompTIA Security+ Plus CertificationCisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification (copy presented with application)3+ years of Cisco Routing and Switching experience; demonstrated technical proficiency in LAN, WAN, Network Management, and Security. Knowledge of DHCP, DNS,Demonstrated ability to handle several projects simultaneouslyMust have a strong, proven background with senior-level experience with Cisco Routing and SwitchingStrong attention to detail, good documentation skills, and ability to write clear, concise project reportsStrong troubleshooting and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or as a part of a larger team reporting to formal project management.
