Position Summary/ Department Summary:Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, Orthopedics (40 hours)Key Responsibilities:Comprehensive care of subspecialty team patients on the physical medicine and rehabilitation/Physiatry teamTreating new and established patients, interpreting diagnostic imaging, managing pre-op and post-op appointmentsCoordinating patient care both internal and external to BCH as a core responsibilityRole is primarily non-procedural Managing acute and chronic orthopedic conditions that span infancy to young adult age groups. Patient population often includes Cerebral Palsy, and those with limb loss and mobility differences.Clinic coverage could be across all BCH locations including Boston as well as Waltham, Weymouth, Peabody and Needham as neededWorking four 10-hour day shifts per week, Monday-Friday with built in administrative timeMinimum QualificationsEducation:Master’s Degree from a Physician Assistant program or a Master’s Degree in NursingExperience:Previous experience as a PA/NP in pediatrics, orthopedics or other related area is strongly preferredA strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.Licensure/ Certifications:A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant or as Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP)This role offers a competitive sign‑on bonus ranging from $5,000 + based on your experience. The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
