Minimum Requirements Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.Active Iowa Physical Therapy license is required to start the assignment.BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.Outpatient physical therapy experience preferred, including evaluation and plan-of-care development for adult and/or geriatric populations.Experience performing 60-minute initial evaluations and documenting comprehensive evaluation, goal writing, functional quality indicators, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry using electronic medical records is preferred.Experience supervising or mentoring students and coordinating discipline-specific therapy services is preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of state practice act, clinical documentation standards, and infection control and safe patient handling procedures is preferred. Additional Information Evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients. Designs functional treatment programs to support return to community activities. Serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers. Completes timely, accurate documentation and ensures care is provided under signed physician orders and within insurance approval as required. Participates in professional development and adheres to state practice act and clinic policies. Demonstrates safety awareness across safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, slips/trips/falls prevention, and work environment practices.
