This leadership role is responsible for food service management, budget oversight, regulatory compliance, team supervision, and delivering an exceptional resident dining experience.ResponsibilitiesCulinary & Kitchen OperationsOversee daily food service operations in a senior living communityPlan menus based on resident preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutrition guidelinesEnsure compliance with physician-ordered diets and special dietary needsMonitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and temperatureMaintain standardized recipes and conduct product testingOrder food and kitchen supplies; manage vendor relationshipsComplete monthly food inventory and manage food cost controlsCompliance & Food SafetyEnsure compliance with state and local health department regulationsMaintain ServSafe or equivalent food safety certificationEnforce sanitation, infection control, and safe food handling standardsConduct regular kitchen audits and quality assurance checksBudget & Financial ManagementDevelop and manage department budgetMonitor monthly expenses and food cost percentagesImplement cost-control measures and corrective action plansLeadership & Team DevelopmentHire, train, supervise, and schedule kitchen and dining staffProvide coaching, performance management, and staff developmentFoster a positive, team-oriented work environmentCollaborate with Executive Director and department headsResident ExperienceEngage with residents during meals to ensure satisfactionAddress concerns promptly and professionallyMaintain a hospitality-driven dining atmosphereQualifications5+ years of food service management experienceExperience in senior living, healthcare, assisted living, skilled nursing, or hospitality preferredServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)Experience managing budgets and controlling food costsKnowledge of therapeutic diets and senior nutritionStrong leadership and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentWhy Join Discovery Senior Living?Competitive salaryComprehensive benefits packagePaid time offCareer growth opportunitiesSupportive leadership environmentOpportunity to positively impact seniors’ lives dailyEOE D/V
