A full-time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position is available for the upcoming school year, serving K-12 students across three schools, as well as a second opening for a Sign Language Interpreter serving K-4 students in one school. Both positions are onsite and based in Brewton, Alabama.Maximise your chances of a successful application to this job by ensuring your CV and skills are a good match.Key Responsibilities:Provide accurate and effective American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services to students with hearing impairments.Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, and peers in classroom and school settings.Collaborate with educators and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.Assist with individual and group instruction tailored to students' communication needs.Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions.Participate in training and professional development relevant to ASL interpreting in educational settings.Qualifications:Proficient in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting skills.Experience working with K-12 students preferred, with capability to adapt across different grade levels.Valid certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter is highly desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to diverse student populations.Ability to work full time onsite within the school environment.Location: Brewton, Alabama (onsite only)This opportunity offers a meaningful role supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students' educational success through skilled interpretation services.
