Location: Joint Relief Institute - Oak Brook/Northbrook Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (dependent on experience) Responsibilities: Answer patient phone calls related to billing, insurance coverage, payments, and account questions. Discuss insurance benefits, coverage, and costs with patients in person or by phone. Adjust and allocate patient accounts as needed based on insurance payments and patient responsibility. Apply patient payments to accounts accurately and in a timely manner. Review patient statements for accuracy before mailing. Send out medical records to requesting facilities while maintaining patient confidentiality. Work on assigned reports provided by the supervisor, ensuring deadlines are met. Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and collaborate with coworkers and departments. Stay up to date with billing policies, insurance procedures, and HIPAA regulations. Assist in other departments when needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Understanding and working knowledge of the Claim Revenue Cycle. Experience in medical billing, coding, or high-volume processing is preferred. Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of individuals, patients, providers, clinical staff, business office personnel, and insurance companies. Ability to clearly communicate and apply policies and principles to solve daily challenges and handle a variety of situations. Proven analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Knowledgeable in MS Suite programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Analytics Reporting. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus!
