We have a fast-paced team environment working with injured clients and their legal concerns.Find out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.Why you should apply (at a glance)Voted one of the Best Law Firms to Work For in the US in 2023, 2024 & 2025Competitive benefitsCompany eventsCommitment to employee career growthTeam focusedThis is a full-time, in-office position in our office in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced workers' compensation paralegal to play an important role in our Workers' Compensation Department.Compensation:$50,000 - $65,000 yearlyResponsibilities:Review case facts and develop a plan of action with the attorneyVerify coverage on E-case and set up a claim with the Insurance CompanyDraft Form 50s (hearing or no hearing)Call clients every 21 days with status updatesFacilitate and monitor medical treatment and recommendations, orders, and referrals for authorizationPromptly send all referrals to the adjuster or defense counsel the day you receive themAssist in coordinating/scheduling transportation and interpretationMonitor income benefits and ensure the client is receiving the maximum amount due (missing TTD checks)Update when the client has reached MMI, and work on obtaining Form 14BIdentify when there are issues with a case and discuss with the attorneyEnsure all calls, emails, and texts are saved in LitifyAssist attorney during hearing, including managing and scheduling depositions and mediations, calendaring hearings, and preparing Pre-Hearing BriefsFacilitate the signing of settlement documents (Clincher, 19, 61, SM, etc)File the Form 61 (and Clincher if necessary) with the WCC and send the Clincher and 19 to DC (if requested) for filing with WCCUse SCWCC Ecase to monitor the claim and upload the proper documentationQualifications:Required:Bachelor's DegreeOne to Five Years of Workers' Compensation Paralegal experienceProficient with Microsoft OfficeAbility to type 50 words per minute or fasterTech-savvy and able to work in a fast-paced, cloud-based environmentGreat attitude and a focus on collaborative workPreferred:Spanish SpeakingAbout CompanyWe believe that our team members are the most important contributors to the success of our firm.
