Sheet Metal Inc is seeking a Senior level HVAC Estimator/Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in estimating and managing commercial mechanical construction projects, to include extensive knowledge in system design, installation, and functionality. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to estimating, project management, coordination and execution, budgeting and cost control, scheduling, labor management, material procurement, quality control, being a team player, and establishing client, subcontractor, and vendor relations.Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.*Responsibilities:** *Project Management and Coordination:** Oversee HVAC projects from start to finish, ensuring all projects are constructed according to design, budget, and schedule.* Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and HVAC plans, including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts, and provide clear, task-specific direction to field crews to ensure proper and efficient installation in accordance with project specifications.* Work closely with project teams to allocate resources, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.* Lead and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion while adhering to budget constraints.* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and vendors, maintaining clear and consistent communication.* Review and approve work plans, schedules, cost projections, and estimates prior to project initiation.* Provide support in identifying risks and potential issues, implementing solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns.* *HVAC Project Estimating:** Demonstrate expertise in reading and understanding contracts, construction documents, plans, and specifications.* Prepare detailed estimates based on conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.* Perform take-offs, pricing, and produce final estimates for project execution.* Review project bid requirements, scope of work, critical schedules, sequences, cost impacts, and material data.* Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to secure pricing for materials and equipment for estimates.* Maintain strong relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to ensure timely material delivery and the most competitive pricing.* *Cost Control and Documentation:** Control all project costs, including materials, labor, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.* Prepare detailed cost projections and track them throughout the life of the project.* Ensure that all change orders and submittals are reviewed and properly documented.* Monitor material deliveries and verify packing slips match actual deliveries to ensure accuracy.* Ensure that close-out documentation is submitted on time and meets General Contractor requirements.*Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.* Minimum of 10 years' experience in the HVAC construction industry, with at least 5+ years in estimating HVAC projects and project management.* Proficiency with estimating software such as QuoteSoft or similar, and experience with project management tools.* Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other Windows-based operating environments.* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.* Possession of a valid Alaska driver's license and satisfactory driver record.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:* Cell phone reimbursement* Company truck* Dental insurance* Fuel card* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Professional development assistance* Relocation assistance* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceExperience:* HVAC: 10 years (Required)Ability to Commute:* Anchorage, AK 99518 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Anchorage, AK 99518: Relocate before starting work (Required)Willingness to travel:* 25% (Preferred)Work Location: In person
