We are looking for a *hands-on Machine Shop Manager* with deep technical expertise in *CNC machining and CNC lathe operations* to lead our production floor and uphold our standards of quality and efficiency.*Key Responsibilities** Oversee daily operations of the CNC machining department, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and efficiency targets are met.* Lead and mentor a team of CNC machinists, setting clear expectations for quality, productivity, and teamwork.* Program, set up, and operate *CNC mills and lathes* (including HAAS, YCM, and similar machines).* Optimize cutting parameters, tooling, and feeds/speeds for performance, accuracy, and surface finish.* Train and mentor machinists on setup procedures, tool offsets, and precision measurement techniques.* Coordinate with engineering and QC teams to ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerance compliance.* Troubleshoot machine issues, fixture problems, and tool wear to minimize downtime.* Maintain equipment calibration, preventive maintenance schedules, and overall shop organization.* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization.*Qualifications** Minimum *7+ years of CNC machining experience*, including *3+ years with CNC lathes*.* Proven expertise in *G-code programming*, toolpath optimization, and fixture design.* Strong understanding of *multi-axis machining* and tight-tolerance work.* Familiarity with *HAAS and YCM* controls preferred; experience with Mazak or Okuma a plus.* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.* Working knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and coolant systems.* Experience supervising or mentoring a team of machinists is highly desirable.* Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
