Another great reason to choose to work with Van Cleef!Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Municipal Engineer - Project Manager, to join our dynamic team in our Toms River, NJ office. You will be responsible for collaborating with a dedicated team of engineers and multidisciplinary services to provide technical and managerial direction and oversee the full scope of our municipal projects. As a key member of our team, you will also be responsible for managing client relationships and developing new businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership:Lead municipal engineering projects, including road rehabilitation, stormwater management, subdivision and land development reviews, and utility designCoordinate and manage capital improvement projects for public sector clientsCoordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and construction issuesAssist in preparing effective work plan proposals, establish project budgets and construction cost estimatesMonitor daily progress of projects through full project life-cycle to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budgetReview and approve project shop drawingsEnsure preparation of and review all detailed engineering sketches, drawings, specifications, plans, reports, and technical documentation to support project deliverables, reviews, and client communicationFind out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.Client Support and Public Engagement:Work with professional engineering consultants, governmental agencies, involved communities and contractors in connection with the planning, design, and permitting of various types of infrastructure projectsRepresent the firm at municipal planning, zoning, and land-use board meetingsCommunicate project goals and updates to stakeholders, including public officials and community membersReview and evaluate Municipal Development Applications using knowledge of the Municipal Code of various municipalitiesAttend project meetings with clientsPrepare and present monthly status reports for review by the clientsLeadership & Team Development: Mentor, support and develop junior engineers. Provide technical skill development along with professional growth opportunities.New Business Development: Engage in marketing related proposals and programs to maintain existing clients and to pursue and develop new clients and business opportunities.QualificationsB.S. degree in Civil Engineering, NJ PE requiredCME, CFM, and/or PP a plus7+ years of progressive experience servicing private clients and/or managing infrastructure projects or designing land development projectsExperience working in site development strongly preferredExperience in public testimony before Land Use Boards a plusProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required, GIS and Hydroflow software experience a plusKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to represent the firm in all related areasStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and develop team members and work effectively with external partners and stakeholdersWhat We OfferWe are committed to creating a personal and professional environment where we can build and focus on helping communities through teamwork and support.
