Apply now- Start next week!*PRIMARY PURPOSE*As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for all major repairs, which include engine, transmission, accident damage and rear end within the transportation truck shop. You will perform all maintenance tasks that ensure a functional and operational transportation fleet.*What You'll Be Doing:*Perform Truck Mechanic requirements in addition to performing all major preventive maintenance, major component rebuilds, and read and interpret all shop material.Perform all repairs and maintenance on refrigeration equipment as needed.Repair major structural damage to trailer, refrigeration system, components-internal repair, engine-internal repair.Perform welding functions as neededPerform all functions of a Truck Mechanic which includes basic service line function (ex. Check tire air pressure, change lights).Perform minor tune-ups.Solve electrical problems, brake problems, compressor preventive maintenance (refrigeration system).Repair all tractors (except rebuilds), warehouse equipment, components-external, minor trailer, refrigeration system, and external engines.Strive to find more efficient ways to do the job and seek to reduce costs and improve labor productivity.Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with company standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to and including 70 lbs.Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Commercial driver's license and certified electrician's (refrigeration) license.Ability to use tools requiredAbility to analyze situations, identify problems and implement solutionsAbility to meet production standards set by the companyFamiliarity with Mack & Volvo computer systemsTech Tool Experience*Schedule Options:*Tuesday - Saturday: 4pm - 12:30amWednesday - Saturday: 3pm -1:30amWe are an organization that values diversity and encourages all qualified individuals to apply without regard to sex, race, color, ancestry, national origin, citizenship status, religion, age, marital status (including civil unions), military service, veteran status, pregnancy (including childbirth and related medical conditions), genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, legally recognized disability, domestic violence victim status or any other characteristic protected by law.
