*Job Overview*Please ensure you read the below overview and requirements for this employment opportunity completely.*Job Summary:*We are seeking a skilled and experienced *Lead Semi Diesel Mechanic / Shop Manager* to oversee daily shop repairs. This dual-role position requires strong technical knowledge and hands-on mechanical ability, combined with leadership, organizational, and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will lead the team of mechanics, ensure timely and high-quality repairs, be responsible for shop workflow and safety.*Key Responsibilities:**Mechanical Duties:** Diagnose and perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles/equipment.* Inspect vehicles/equipment for safety and proper operation.* Oversee quality control of all repairs and maintenance services.* Stay up-to-date on customer jobs.* Assist with mobile repairs and or towing.* Assist with recoveries when needed.*Management Duties:** Supervise and lead a team of mechanics and technicians.* Assign tasks and monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of jobs.* Maintain accurate service records and job tickets.* Maintain reports.* Ensure compliance with company safety standards.* Schedule and coordinate vehicle/equipment maintenance and inspections.* Train and mentor shop staff and promote ongoing development.* Assist with recruiting, hiring, and performance evaluations.*Customer and Administrative Duties:** Communicate clearly with customers about diagnostics, repairs, and timelines.* Provide cost estimates and obtain customer approvals.* Maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and co-workers.*Qualifications:** High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.* 3+ years of experience as a mechanic, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.* Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across a range of vehicles/equipment.* Knowledge of computer diagnostics.* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. xijylhu * Valid driver's license; CDL preferred for certain operations.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Paid time offWork Location: In person
