*Summary:*If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.The Supervising Attorney is responsible for overseeing all legal services and ensuring quality, timely representation for clients. This role manages attorneys and paralegals, coordinates case assignments, maintains compliance with billing/documentation requirements, and handles complex or high-priority cases directly.*Key Responsibilities:1. Legal Case Management** Oversee all active client cases, ensuring deadlines, filings, and hearings are managed effectively.* Review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents before submission.* Ensure every client file receives daily attention through attorney or paralegal activity.* Maintain a balanced caseload of complex cases requiring direct attorney involvement.*2. Attorney & Paralegal Supervision** Recruit, assign, and supervise project-based attorneys and paralegals.* Provide legal direction, mentorship, and performance feedback.* Review daily task lists, ensuring all clients receive case updates and work progress.* Approve and monitor case assignments, ensuring fair distribution of workload.*3. Court Representation & Client Advocacy** Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and negotiations when necessary.* Coordinate hearing coverage by contract attorneys and ensure they are prepared.* Engage in settlement discussions and other negotiations on behalf of clients.*4. Quality Control & Compliance** Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and professional practice standards.* Confirm accurate documentation and record-keeping in client files.* Maintain proper billing records for daily per diem requirements and other authorizations.* Monitor deadlines, court schedules, and compliance with program protocols.*5. Program Development & Improvement** Collaborate with leadership to develop systems and processes for handling high-volume cases.* Identify gaps in service delivery and recommend solutions.* Provide periodic reporting on caseload volume, outcomes, and key metrics.* Participate in training and staff development opportunities.*6. Internal Collaboration** Work closely with the paralegal(s) to ensure smooth intake, eligibility screening, and daily case management.* Provide legal judgment and support when paralegals encounter complex issues.* Coordinate with administrative staff for scheduling, reporting, and documentation needs.*Qualifications:** Active Washington State Bar license in good standing.* Minimum *5 years litigation experience*, ideally with housing, civil, or related law.* Supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.* Ability to manage high-volume caseloads and coordinate multiple attorneys and paralegals.* Strong legal writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills.* Exceptional organizational and communication skills. xijylhu * Commitment to serving vulnerable and low-income populations.*Compensation:** *Benefits:* Health, retirement plan, and paid time off*Reports To:*Program Director / Executive LeadershipJob Type: Full-timePay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Monday to Friday* Weekends as neededLicense/Certification:* license to Practice in WA state (Required)Ability to Commute:* Seattle, WA 98107 (Required)Work Location: Hybrid remote in Seattle, WA 98107
