*Job Overview*Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Civil Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the estimation process for complex civil projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive pricing strategies. Your expertise will drive project success from initial bidding through contract negotiations, value engineering, & contributing to the growth and reputation of our organization. As our lead civil construction estimator we expect a strong background focused on Heavy Civil construction including mass excavation, earthwork, grading, wet & dry utility installation in both private and public sectors. This position requires expertise in digital takeoff and estimating tools, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with both clients and vendors.*Responsibilities** Perform accurate and thorough quantity take-offs, including import/export, backfill, piping, etc. as well as organize and format estimates for ease of comprehension by the end user* Remain informed of changes and trends in construction costs, methods, materials, equipment, technology, wage rates, and working rules while pursuing training and education to increase your effectiveness as an estimator* Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects (sitework, grading, utilities, earthwork, erosion control, demolition, & paving).* Maintain and organize historical cost data, unit pricing, and vendor databases* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive estimates.* Utilize estimating software such as Agtek, Trimble Business Center and Bluebeam to compile bid proposals efficiently and precisely.* Conduct thorough site visits to gather on-the-ground data, assess construction conditions, and refine cost estimates accordingly.* Manage the entire estimating process from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring all costs are accounted for and aligned with project budgets.* Monitor cost control throughout project execution to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and identify potential overruns early.* Review contracts and scope documents to mitigate risks and clarify project requirements before award.* Lead by example, integrity and honesty to promote and maintain a positive work environment including time management for remote work opportunities.* Maintain confidentiality with respect to sensitive items and information.*Requirements** Experience using AGTEK, Trimble, and mass excavation takeoff software* 7+ years of proven heavy civil construction experience as an estimator leading bids.* 7+ years of experience working with earthwork, stormwater and wet utilities* Must be familiar with reading and understanding civil drawings, including grading, utilities, erosion and sediment controls, and other work performed by site contractors* Must be familiar with the construction industry with an emphasis on Earthwork, Site Utilities, Storm Water Management, & Paving* Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic* Must be proficient in mathematics* Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time and workload* Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on civil infrastructure projects; heavy site work experience is highly desirable.* Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers & general contractors.* Deep understanding of construction management principles, contracts, cost control measures, and project scheduling.* Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical insights into field conditions impacting estimates.* Demonstrated ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately. xijylhu * Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates confidently.Pay: $135,000.00 - $185,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Flexible schedule* Fuel reimbursement* Health insurance* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceExperience:* Construction estimating: 7 years (Preferred)Work Location: Hybrid remote in Franklin, IN 46131
