This role ensures the safe, efficient operation of mechanical assets by performing inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs. The mechanic plays a critical role in supporting production uptime and overall operational efficiency.*Key Responsibilities:**Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance:** Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and service trucks.* Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, fluid replacements, and lubrication.* Maintain company vehicles and ensure all transportation equipment remains in DOT-compliant and safe operating condition.*Troubleshooting and Repairs:** Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and manuals to identify equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.* Ensure all equipment and machinery repairs are performed to manufacturer and safety standards.*Safety and Compliance:** Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and internal safety protocols, including proper lockout/tagout procedures.* Immediately report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses.* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.*Documentation and Inventory:** Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities for equipment and vehicles.* Monitor parts inventory and order supplies as needed to support uninterrupted operations.* Complete required work orders, inspections, and maintenance logs.*Collaboration and Communication:** Coordinate with production leadership and other departments to prioritize urgent repair tasks and scheduled maintenance.* Provide support to less experienced technicians or operators on equipment best practices and troubleshooting.*Qualifications:**Experience:** 3+ years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic required.* ASE Certification required*Skills and Competencies:** Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.* Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.* Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.* Effective communication and collaboration skills.*Certifications and Requirements:** Must possess a current DOT Medical Certificate and be willing to comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.* Must be ASE Certified* Valid driver's license with clean driving record.* Must be able to pass pre-employment and DOT-required drug/alcohol screening.*Tools and Equipment Used:** Diagnostic scanners, multimeters, forklifts etc.*Work Environment:** Fabrication shop and yard setting with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and temperature variation.* Requires physical effort including lifting, standing, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights.* May require occasional overtime or after-hours support in case of equipment emergencies.*Performance Metrics:** Equipment and machine uptime and reliability.* Responsiveness and effectiveness in maintenance execution.* Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.* Safety compliance and incident reduction. xijylhu * Cost efficiency and inventory control.Job Type: Full-timePay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 - 50 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Referral program* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Day shift* Monday to Friday* Overtime* Weekends as neededLicense/Certification:* ASE Certification (Required)Ability to Commute:* Bernalillo, NM 87004 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Bernalillo, NM 87004: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
