Join a company that values professionalism, accountability, and teamwork in every aspect of railcar repair and maintenance.*Position Summary*The *Second Shift Freight Car Repair Supervisor* will lead a team of *4-5 railcar mechanics* in performing repairs, modifications, and inspections on freight cars. The ideal candidate has experience in *AAR billing*, *welding and fabrication*, and *air brake systems*, with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.*Key Responsibilities** Lead and manage a crew of 4-5 railcar repair technicians* Assign daily work and monitor quality, safety, and productivity* Ensure compliance with *AAR Field Manual* and *FRA regulations** Verify *AAR job codes and billing accuracy* for all completed repairs* Perform and oversee *welding, cutting, and fabrication* to *AWS D15.1* standards* Conduct *air brake testing and inspection* per FRA Part 232* Troubleshoot structural and mechanical issues on freight cars* Maintain repair logs, time tracking, and inspection records* Collaborate with management and customers to meet repair goals and deadlines*Qualifications** 3+ years of experience in *freight car repair or inspection** Knowledge of *AAR billing, rules, and job coding** Familiar with *FRA safety appliance and brake test standards** Proficient in *welding and fabrication* (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW)* Strong *leadership and problem-solving* abilities* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment* Excellent communication and documentation skills* Valid driver's license and dependable transportation*Benefits** Competitive pay based on experience* Health, dental, and vision insurance* 401(k) with company match* Paid time off and paid holidays* Opportunities for *AAR certification* and career advancement* Positive, safety-driven team environment*Why Join Quality Rail Service*You'll be part of a growing company with a reputation for doing the job right the first time.
