*Job Summary:* The mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, service and repair of all fleet units and warehouse equipment in compliance with OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company inspection standards. In addition to mechanical duties, the Mechanic will assume driving responsibilities in the event of driver absences due to vacation, illness, or other circumstances.If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.*Duties/Responsibilities:** Diagnose, repair and maintain all fleet units and warehouse equipment in good working condition and that meet safety standards* Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment* Maintains accurate vehicle records by creating work order service and repairs tickets* Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.* Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and other means of testing.* Evaluate and use most cost-effective sources for parts & supplies in coordination with Location Manager* Ensure monthly expense budgets are met and obtain authorization for major expenditures*Additional Duties:** Operate company vehicles as needed to cover for team members during vacations, absences, etc. which may require occasional tasks outside the scope of your job.* Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).* Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies while driving.* Conduct road tests for CDL Class A Driver applicants to evaluate driving skills and safety awareness. xijylhu * Perform other job duties as assigned.*Required Skills/Abilities: ** A valid Class A driver's license* Basic knowledge of computers and software applications* Knowledge of Fleet diagnostics* Effective oral and written communication skills* Skills in organizing and prioritizing work and tasks* Skills in problem solving and decision making* Ability to provide attention to detail* Ability to multitask*Education and Experience:** High School diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years' trade school concentration in gas and diesel mechanics*Physical Requirements: ** Work generally takes place in a shop setting* Stand on concrete floors 8+ plus hours per day* Must be able to lift up to 30lbs* Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations* Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions* Noise level irregularities in the work environmentPay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Prescription drug insurance* Referral program* Tuition reimbursement* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
