Join Safeway today!_*Purpose of Position:** Makes diagnostic tests and repairs to all Safeway vehicles in a reasonable time with moderate assistance and guidance.*Primary Job Functions:** Performs diagnostic tests on all assigned vehicles and equipment.* Performs skilled Preventive Maintenance Service* Services and/or repairs to school buses, automobiles, and miscellaneous light and heavy mechanical equipment.* Other duties as required.*Essential Knowledge and Skills** High school graduate or its equivalent.* Certified in both 608 and 609 A/C repairs.* 2 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of automotive and school bus or an equivalent combination of training and experience.* Good knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and modifications of light and heavy gasoline and diesel-powered equipment, including school buses.* Ability to use most types of vehicle mechanic equipment and tools effectively.* Familiar with the use of repair manuals and parts books.* Must possess a Commercial Drivers License or the ability to obtain one.
