STS is seeking multiple experienced *Diesel Technicians *for its Albany location. We have branches in Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, and Albany, New York and Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.*Mechanic Responsibilities:** Diagnose and repair heavy/light truck equipment and complete installation of truck equipment including without limitation: snowplows, liftgates, hoists, van and dump bodies* Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) truck equipment including routine technical repairs and make recommendations for future repairs* Document work order details within the Company's internal order and billing program* Abide by all policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment* Work independently and finish jobs at the quoted time on brake systems, hydraulics, welding, riveting, metal fabrication, trailer body and floor repairs, suspension troubleshooting and repairs, door repairs, and other trailer and truck equipment systems of all types.*Qualifications:** Active Driver's License with a clean driving record* Must provide own tools* Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs* The ability to demonstrate successful welding skills in non-standard situations and on varying materials is a plus* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with other employees, management, and customers.*Preferred Qualifications:** CDL Certification* Cummins Diesel Certification* NYS Heavy Motor Vehicle Inspector's License*Applicant Must Be Able To:** Walk, stand, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time* Visually inspect small defects and/or small parts* Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools; determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work* Demonstrate the ability to hear and accurately interpret mechanical, technical, and business information in an environment xijylhu subject to noise, vibrations, etc.* Must be able to lift the maximum weight permitted under applicable regulations for the position* Perform all work safely in a fast-paced work environment*Benefits:** 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Referral program* Vision insurance* Boot & Tool AllowanceJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceExperience:* Mechanic: 1 year (Required)Ability to Commute:* Albany, NY 12205 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Albany, NY 12205: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
