Application Engineer - Low & Medium Voltage Power Distribution (Senior-Level Candidates Encouraged to Apply) Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + Full Benefits Location: Remote in TX, NC, IL, MI ONLY Department: Engineering Reports to: Sr.Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.Manager, Application Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an Application Engineer with hands-on experience in low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution products to support OEMs, panel builders, utilities, and switchgear manufacturers.This role is not entry-level and is best suited for engineers who have direct, real-world experience applying LV/MV protection and switching devices in commercial, industrial, or utility environments.You will serve as a technical authority"”guiding customers through product selection, application design, system integration, and compliance with UL, IEC, and IEEE standards.If you've worked closely with switchgear, circuit protection, vacuum interrupters, and electromechanical protection systems, this role was designed for you.What You'll Do Provide technical application support for: LV and MV circuit breakers Vacuum interrupters Contactors and switchgear components Advise customers on proper product selection, protection coordination, and system design Support OEMs, panel builders, utilities, and switchgear engineering teams with integration, application review, and troubleshooting Interpret and apply applicable standards, including: UL 489 UL 508 IEC 60947 IEEE C37 Lead or support application testing, validation, and customer qualification activities Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, and Sales on new and existing product applications Prepare technical documentation, including application notes, data sheets, and customer-facing reports Applicants must have direct experience with the following technologies: Vacuum interrupters MCCB / MCB circuit breakers RCD / GFCI breakers DC circuit protection devices ATS systems or switch disconnectors IEC xijylhu contactors / DP contactors Thermal overload relays LV or MV switchgear applications Candidates without hands-on experience in these areas are unlikely to be a fit.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field 5+ years of application engineering experience in:LV/MV power distribution Switchgear Circuit protection products Strong ability to: Interpret electrical schematics Analyze protection curves and coordination studies Solid understanding of: Arc interruption principles Trip unit behavior Electromechanical protection mechanisms Excellent communication skills with the ability to support technical OEM and engineering customers
