The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc, a respected non-profit provider of residential, recreation, and day services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), is seeking a Lead Teacher. This position is located at our Muriel Humphrey Child Care Center (MHCC). The position is full-time, 40 hours/week regular work schedule Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break, pay rate is $16.50/hour.Like the look of this opportunity Make sure to apply fast, as a high volume of applications is expected Scroll down to read the complete job description.General DescriptionUnder the general supervision of the Morning or Afternoon Supervisor and accountable to the Program Director, and the Board of Directors, the Program Leader will be responsible for the direct supervision of the children at the Center, develop appropriate activities for the children's ability level and ensure the safety and well-being of the children.Duties and Responsibilities1. Assists in the planning, development and implementation of one of the classrooms in the childcare center2. Responsible for the safety and well-being of the children in the assigned classroom3. Responsible for insuring licensing requirements are being met at all times4. Works directly with the children in implementing the Center's program5. Serves as a role model for the children6. Helps the children Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1st Aid and CPR certification required, we offer this paid training!  Establish a good rapport with the children.  Establish and maintain a good working relationship with co-workers.  Staff shall be capable of communicating effectively both orally and in writing as applicable to the job responsibility.   Staff is capable of effectively communicating with emergency personnel.Qualifications1.  Must be at least 16 years of age.2.  Must have taken Infection Control training and/or retraining.3.  Must satisfactorily complete required annual training hours as specified by Licensing Standards.Physical Qualifications1.  Free of Tuberculosis (TB) in communicable form2.  Physically able to lift up children to changing table or to lower children to changing mat on the floor.3.  Able to assist children with evacuation.4.  Able to move children in wheelchairs.5.  Able to communicate effectively with the children.Must satisfactorily complete required annual training hours as specified by Licensing Standards. Physical QualificationsFree of TB in the communicable form.Physically be able to lift children to changing table or to lower children to changing mat on floor.Able to assist children with evacuation.Able to assist children in wheelchairs.Able to communicate effectively with children.We offer a competitive benefits package for full-time employees to include Health, Dental, Vision and Life insurance options.
